I was down with another bout of tonsillitis again on tuesday. Actually it is
a recurring one that back dates to the 31 December 2007.
This time I had to get an injection and continue with a super drowsy
antibiotics for 3 days.
Just like the last time, thank God I have a holiday tomorrow to sleep. While
I am working today, I feel so drowsy that i can stay numb in my mind for a
few minutes while my clients are chatting away. Oh, it happens to you even
if you are not drowsy? Not clienitis, right?
Anyway, I have be advised to abstain from fried or spicy food for like 6
months.. it will be trying my faith, really.
Otherwise, I will have this flu or fever or soar throat recurring again.
Even though i was suffering from a mild flu and soar throat, I had to do
what I had to do. Which is to clear the middle area upstairs where i have
tons of books and stuff everywhere. The rearrangement of our guess room (aka
mom's room) helped. I moved the big book shelf there and placed all my
labeled books there.
In the place of the bookshelf, I placed our old ikea white desk for an extra
study area. I moved the small shelf upstairs next to the table and
reorganised the PC area downstairs. Now the exercise machine is down stairs
where the PC previously was.
Tonight I will be trying to label all my unlabeled books and key them into
my library. Yes, I have a library of books and it is about 400 plus books
now. Ahem.
Yesterday night was a very happy night for both Zoe and Mommy.
Mommy finally gets the break she deserved. Every night Zoe will
require Mommy to put her to bed - no one else will do. Zoe clings on
to Amy the moment Amy arrives home. It really cause Amy to be very
tired every night. And for the passed few weeks, Zoe have been
sleeping later and later, making Amy even more tired and fed up.
Amy was fed-up that I could not help, Zoe does not want to sleep and etc.
Daddy is very happy to announce that I finally broke the vicious cling
last night.
Zoe asked for me around 10.30pm and I duly obliged. Usually she just
ask for me to delay sleeping. I know the drill - she ask for me, Mommy
steps out for a break, and then after 5 minutes Zoe asked for mommy
again. But this time I have wised up and try to out maneuver her
schemes.
So when I had small baby talk with her and she then asked for mommy, I
distracted her and carried her to the window to view the neighbour's
dogs. She would forget about mommy that moment. Then i carried her and
lay her on my chest. Mommy memory gone!
Then Zoe asked me to sing her songs. "Wong Wong Wong" being her
favourite. Then Mary had a little lamb. And a few other children
songs.
She still didnt want to sleep.
Then I took out my secret weapon.
No not the cane. I sang her songs she haven't heard.
Slow Worship songs.
As I pat her on my chest, I sang - As a Deer, Only By Grace, etc..As I
gently and slowly pat her, she slept under the rhythm of my songs.
Wife Happy. Daddy Happy. Hallelujah!
